RPA™

RPA™ Resins are a family of polymers used in high-volume production. RPA is a proprietary TPO (thermo-plastic olefin) resin that bonds rubber and plastic to produce a new category of resins with superior performance characteristics that include enhanced resilience, the ability to withstand high impact and increased longevity.

These new materials have broad applications in the construction, transportation, marine, homebuilding, recreation and household goods industries. RPA resins can be developed to replace wood, fiberglass and other plastic materials used in a variety of products. RPA is especially suitable in applications that require a strong moldable plastic that does not become brittle in cold temperatures. RPA is also an effective laminate that is paintable and scratch-resistant.

One major application for RPA is in the manufacture of recreational vehicles, specifically the construction of vehicle bodies. By substantially reducing vehicle weight, RPA provides manufacturers a greater range of design options. RPA also increases strength and durability, leading to higher quality and more cost-effective production. In addition, RPA-based panels can be used as superior alternatives to fiberglass-reinforced plywood (FRP) sheets that are commonly used throughout the manufacturing and construction industries.

RPA composite material is sold primarily in pellet form and shipped in truckload or boxcar quantities to end users or distributors. RPA is typically then formed, or extruded, to accommodate customer applications. Exousia sells RPA as a raw material, and also produces extruded components or other custom-engineered products that integrate RPA.

What Makes RPA Unique?

• Forms stronger rubber/plastic interfaces
• Highly functional in extremely cold weather
• Broad temperature ranges: from -40K° to +187° F
• Allows for multiple formulations
• Processing temperature can be 10° to 15° cooler
• Saves electricity/power
• Parts cool more quickly, creating minimal warpage
• Higher volume of products due to reduced cycle time
• Dimensionally stable - no oils and plasticizers to migrate out
